  • KEY Engineering Group designed the lighting and electrical systems for the Park ATL Select parking facility located on Sullivan Rd in College Park. We were responsible for lighting and power design as well as achieving LEED points under the lighting and controls category so the facility could achieve LEED Silver certification.

The lighting design consisted of interior lighting for the parking administration building and exterior lighting design at ticket booths, the main payment canopy at the building, covered parking, and open parking areas. To design these lighting systems, we first consulted the IES (Illumination Engineering Society) Handbook to determine the proper illumination levels. Then, we selected the proper lighting fixtures and utilized lighting design software to perform a photometric analysis to achieve the right amount of illumination levels inside the building as well as on the outside. For the exterior lighting design, we also considered limiting light pollution to ensure light did not spill onto adjacent properties. The lighting design utilized significantly less energy than a standard building of this type, so we were able to achieve points for LEED silver certification.
